Hextor used to compete in UK Kennel Club events but felt something was lacking with too little emphasis placed on the HP elements of HPR, so we, together with a group of like minded individuals founded the Working Versatile Pointer Association.

The WVPA only held competitions on ground where Game was present, focussing largely on the HP elements of HPR, after all, conducting competitions for HPRs on ground without Game is very much a 'pointless exercise'. We were sponsored by numerous companies and the images above are from the WVPA innaugural Grouse Challenge event. The sponsors for the above event were Harkila UK, Alpha Feeds and Quest. Prizes included Harkila clothing and Harkila footware, Food from Alpha and Dummies from Quest as well as numerous trophies, plaques, rosettes and certificates.

As you can see, we did rather well.

Although we, at Hextor, no longer compete in UK Kennel Club events, instead concentrating on working our dogs, we are often asked to assist in training people and their dogs to compete. We can tailor our training to help you achieve success in competition should you wish to concentrate on that and our clients and friends have achieved considerable success as a result of our help in Working Tests, Field Trials and International competitions overseas.

Our facilities are second to none and we have the ability to deliver training on private estates all year round. During the shooting season, we are able to offer training on live Game EVERY DAY ( see our training pages for further details ).

So, whatever you want to achieve, we can help you to do so and we have the facilities and experience necessary to deliver what we promise.
